Chilean ardiente paciencia


Ardiente paciencia was Antonio Skarmeta's 1983's novel telling the story of a young and naive postman Mario Jimenez who befirends real life Nobel prize winning poet Pablo Neruda. The novel was turned into a motion picture twice as you'll recognize under the name il postino.

In the little village of Isla Negra, where Neruda is in exile, Mario learns how to use metaphores to impress his crush Beatriz who will become his future wife and mother of his kid. Neruda speaks the language of the sea and the wind during all the play and instructs Mario how to use those brilliant words far beyond young man's imagination.
